"Toto we're not in ... fog delayed? ..."

I grew up in Western Kansas.  Most of my childhood memories involve wind, lots of 50 mph wind.  My of my night time dreams are windy.  I grew up with snow days from school, and lots of them.  The Kansas Department of Education used to allow at least 6 snow days without having to make them up.  Our kids have to make up all days missed, handing over days off previously designated for President's Day or Good Friday all because the Lord decided to dump a little "lake effect" snow.

I was awakened at 5:50 a.m. this morning to a call from our boys school's cancellation/delay service ... two hour delay due heavy fog.

What a surprise blessing this is.... my husband is gone on business this week... I'm holding down the fort as a "single parent" for a few days... man I take my husband for granted.  Last night as I watched a movie solo I had the wish for the boys & I to play hookie.  Spending the day at the movies or a picnic in the park, but the former teacher in me could never do it.... it would be the cardinal sin of an educator....

And then the Lord allowed the fog to roll in...

James 4:14 "14 How do you know what your life will be like tomorrow? Your life is like the morning fog—it’s here a little while, then it’s gone."

... and we got to spend the morning veggin' out, watching Magic School Bus cartoons.... me drinkin' coffee & the boys guzzling SunnyD ....

I have to herd them to the car soon, but am going to savor these next ten minutes of snuggling as couch potatoes ...
